As far as I know, an invention of mine. A
Bakerism is a brief phrase written by Kenneth Baker, art critic for the
San Francisco Chronicle that strikes me as being particularly oblique,
ambiguous or just plain obscure in how it relates specifically to the topic he
is writing about. I enjoy Baker’s probing mind. He is obviously well read and
his interests range beyond a narrow definition of art. He tries to bring all
this into his writings about art, artists and exhibitions. Occasionally, a sentence
or two jump out at me as being quite obscure and can be lifted out of context
as a Bakerism. Bakerisms
should be approached with a bit of humor. It is not intended to be a bash of
Kenneth Baker.
